I have been spending a lot of time lately in the Clearwater Beach area, therefore, that's where this report will be focused on. The Snook bite is still rocking along, mostly around Clearwater Pass with some fast moving water (the better tide changes) and I am still seeing some action around some of the mangrove stands that are in close proximity to Clearwater Pass. I am finding that fat live shrimp and larger white bait are gettin' the job done! Moving away from Clearwater Pass, my next favorite place is seeking out the deeper holes of some of the area flats. I am throwing live shrimp under a popping cork and also working soft plastics (such as Mirro-Lure) on a light jig head, which has been gaining a lot of attention from the area's Speckled Sea Trout. With the water temps still being so warm, a well placed cast and a SLOW retrieve are imperative! If you are interested in booking a Clearwater or Ft. Desoto trip with me, please check out my online booking system located on this site and get your day on the calendar! As we are coming into the fall season shortly, remember that's some of this areas very best fishing time! Hope to see ya soon! Until next time friends, TIGHT LINES!!
